Mesopotamian campaign (1914-1918). British and Indian troops next to the ancient ruins of the great Iwan of Chosroes, dated to c. the 3rd to 6th-century. This monumental gate gave access to the palace of the Sasanian kings in Ctesiphon, the capital of the Persian empire abandoned after the arab conquest during the mids of the VII century.
